AMRISTAR SHORTLISTED AS FINALIST FOR WAITTA INNOVATION AWARD
January 14, 2003
Amristar Solutions, a Perth IT innovation company, has today been shortlisted as a finalist in the
twelfth annual Western Australian Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards (WAITTA). Amristar was nominated
in the Innovation category for its groundbreaking i-delve web mapping technology.
i-delve is a client/server web mapping technology that allows anyone,
anywhere, to interact with and explore large volumes of spatial data. It was
developed over more than two years with the aim of giving the end user desktop
GIS interactivity over constrained bandwidth networks, such as dial-up
Internet. More information about i-delve, including online demonstrations of the technology, is available
at www.idelve.net.
Amristar Solutions has previously been awarded a "Excellence in Mapping
Sciences" GIS award by the Mapping Sciences Institute, and a national Asia
Pacific ICT Award (APICTA) in the category of Smart ICT. Amristar is currently
prototyping i-delve applications for a range of
clients, including several government agencies around Australia. Amristar is also exploring
web services and ASP solutions based on its i-delve technology.
WAITTA has
been held since 1991, although 2003 marks the innaugural year of the Innovation
category.
The winners will be announced at an awards dinner to be held at the Burswood Ballroom on Friday the 28th
of March, 2003. More information is available from
http://www.waitta.asn.au/.
